tHE ARt Of MUSiC

TALkiN' BOUt A REVOLUtiON!

* - "If you were to compile a list of the greatest 100 songs of this decade what would they be...hmmmmm!?"'

You would be pretty hard pressed because radio in the last 5-10 years has you fooled that music isn't as good as it used to be but in actuality it's radio that sucks ass for playing garbage everyday all day!
* - "Ain't nothing changed but the date!!!"

We ALL think and say the same sh!t, "music ain't what it used to be!" Hopefully we all now know its due to the following; Big corporations, commercial radio, and ALL the TV channels formally known as music channels play less and less music videos every year and unfortunately they make more money on the simple repetitive crap that 10 to 16 year old kids just die for! No offense and to each their own but you've seen them on TV embarrassing themselves sobbing and wetting themselves. (And) now Pop Culture is determined by them??? The "suits" at the record labels and the corporate mamma jamma's have ONLY one job and goal and it's to make lots of $$$ for the record label or radio station which is filled with mamma jammas whom have no understanding or care for the essentials when creating this art we love and call music. I bet most of these fools can't even tap their damn foot on time with the beat and have little to no rhythm running through their bones! To be a part of the music industry and have a credible life long career you must understand and appreciate the following; artist development , artistic expression, or the gift, and the skill it takes to make real music, to create colors, emotions, and feelings from organizing noise into sounds into music.

* - "Just because it has a good beat does not mean it's a good song".

The general public is being brainwashed. We're all becoming dumb and dumber with every manufactured "has been" shoved down our throats we're all basically forced to see and hear!

* - "You wouldn't eat horse shit, so why would you listen to it???"

90% of people tend to follow the crowd and go for what "the norm" is rather than to stick out or stand out from the crowd. Whatever happened to originality? Most people will begin to believe a song is good if they hear it long enough, "oooh i really didn't like this song before BUT now i can't stop singing it! it's soo catchy!"  All i need is 15 seconds and I'LL KNOW if a song has any quality to it. Now while others have a hard time even remembering a song title or singer, i can listen to a song and tell you who produced and composed the music, where others will hear a saxophone line playing in a song, i can tell you who's playing it just by the way the player is blowing or phrasing the music! (that's ridiculously crazy, but true!)

* - "I trust nothing but my ears. I'm rain man when it come to this sh!t!"

Whatever happened to music lyrics and words that are mysterious and sexy without being overtly dirty or slutty?  Where are all the songs with the lyrics that paint a picture, a different world only your minds eye can see? Songs that made you to use your imagination, tease you to read between the lines and take you somewhere you've been before or to a feeling you're only experiencing now for the very first time? Music can make you feel like you're madly in love when you've never been in love before and music can break your heart when you're happy in love! (And) Where are the songs that help you pick up the broken pieces, heal you from the inside out, guide you through the healing process, and your personal growing pains???

Listen, music samples used creatively to give a different feeling, effect, and alternative perspective...that's all good! Lord knows i love a good sample but how many times are we going to hear the same one used? or the same drum loop? Somebody please tell me how many of these auto-tune tone deaf singers do we really need? Gimme a f**kin' break! It's cheating and nothing more than production techniques being used and abused!

FACT: Processed cheese, corn starch syrup, fillers and additives are all very bad for your health. ;)

* - "I dig and groove to music where i can tell by listening if the guitar player is hot & horny, the drummer is funky, the bass player is in the mood, if the keyboard player is chemically imbalanced, the sax player is madly in love and wants you to feel it!"

Long gone are the days when you could turn the dial on the radio and you could bump to Kool And The Gang, Michael Jackson, His Royal Badness Prince, sexy and soulful Sade, slow jam king Babyface, and the Flyte Tyme Productions duo (from the funk super group Morris Day & The Time) Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. On any givin' day these "artists" would play on the car radio and Guns n' Roses, Nirvana, Daryl Hall, Morrissey, Depeche Mode, Led Zeppelin and George Michael would randomly be mixed in the playlist somewhere in between!

Real music by real musicians, singers, and lyricists are out there, but you just have to dig deep and look for it now. It's the researching online, the "diggin' in the crates" and discovery that makes it fun and worth while and because a song was produced or released in the 1970's, 80's, or 90's that doesn't mean it's "dated" or "old" - Because at that very first moment...it's brand new to you.

* - "A beautifully produced song does not age, in fact like fine wine...it only get's better!"

Why do i or should you really even care what radio and TV play? If someone sold you a brand new Little Red Corvette but in reality the car you now love soo much was just another used car with an engine so weak in comparison but all that is hidden under the new Corvette frame painted up to look good and told/sold you everything that it appears to be, but NOT! Trust me, you'd be pissed off too! (And) to my ears...it's the same #%@!!& thing! Don't sell me music or an image I KNOW is fake!

* - "What if half the things you've heard or seen turned out to be a lie...how would you know the truth?"
